At IMHR
The Institute for Mind Health and Recovery (IMHR) is a California-based nonprofit public benefit organization dedicated to advancing emotional wellness, mental health access, and recovery through integrative education, research, and community programming. IMHR exists to bridge the gap between clinical mental health treatment and accessible emotional healing practices—ensuring that underserved, trauma-affected, and marginalized populations have the tools and support necessary to achieve long-term wellbeing.
IMHR’s programs are grounded in the Emotional Processing Formula (EPF), a proprietary, evidence-based framework that teaches individuals how to recognize, regulate, and reprogram their emotional responses using principles from neuroscience, mindfulness, and behavioral psychology. Through EPF, IMHR empowers individuals to process emotions safely, reduce emotional reactivity, and develop adaptive coping mechanisms that enhance resilience and self-trust.
At the heart of IMHR’s mission is The Restoration Room, a trauma-informed community wellness initiative that provides emotional processing education, group healing sessions, and facilitator certification. This flagship program integrates emotional literacy, somatic awareness, and recovery-based practices to help individuals rebuild inner balance, stability, and connection.
IMHR functions as both a direct service provider and a workforce development institute, training facilitators, peer specialists, and community leaders to deliver emotional recovery education across diverse environments—including schools, reentry programs, rehabilitation centers, and public health agencies.
By combining scientific research, integrative awareness, and social equity, IMHR seeks to redefine the landscape of emotional wellness—transforming the way individuals and institutions understand healing, mental health, and human potential.
